Let Food Be Thy Medicine

"Eating is more than just fuel for the fire. It turns out that 'food' can be our best friend or our worst enemy. Four of the leading causes of death in the U.S. are linked to food while on the other hand, food has been listed as a contributing factor in curing such ailments as acne, constipation, arthritis, and high blood cholesterol. The list goes on.

Modern pharmaceuticals treat the symptoms of our ailments, and while they often work, we should regard the symptoms as a warning sign. Although a drug may alleviate the symptom, it does not treat the cause. Our body is signaling that something needs to be changed, usually in the way of diet, cleanliness, stress, or environment. Ignore the cause, and even the drugs we rely on can lead to disease."
